"WAS THE SERPENT (SATAN) THE FATHER OF CAIN IN THE BOOK OF JUBILEES?"

I can't remember who previously posted on the book of Jubilees and showed us that the Serpent (Satan) was the father of Cain. After studying it more closely, I find that information to be incorrect.
In the book of Jubilees at http://www.sacred-texts.com/bib/jub/jub15.htm, under Paradise and the Fall, Chapter 3:15 states, "And in the first week of the first jubilee, Adam and his wife were in the Garden of Eden for seven years tilling and keeping it, and we gave him work and we instructed him to do everything that is suitable for tillage." Verse 3:17, "And after the completion of the seven years, which he had completed there, seven years exactly, and in the second month, on the seventeenth day (of the month), the serpent came and approached the woman, and said to the woman," Hath God commanded you, saying, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?"
A jubilee is 50 years. Adam and Eve were in the Garden of Eden for 7 years, which was the first 7 years of the 50 yr. jubilee, and the temptation by the Serpent happened in the 2nd month on the 17th day of the 8th year that they were in the Garden. (Someone at 5doves previously pointed out that the 17th day of the 2nd month was when the flood took place according to Genesis 7:11. This was during Noah's time.) The 2nd month would have been the month of Heshvan or Cheshvan on the Jewish civil calendar because the month of Nisan or Abib did not become the 1st month and Iyar the 2nd month on the Jewish religious calendar until the Lord had Moses change the calendar according to Exodus 12:2.
To continue on in the book of Jubilees, under the Paradise and the Fall, 3:32-34, "And on the new moon of the fourth month, Adam and his wife went forth from the Garden of Eden, and they dwelt in the land of ’Eldâ, in the land of their creation. And Adam called the name of his wife Eve. And they had no son till the first jubilee, and after this he knew her."
So Adam and Eve left the garden of Eden on the new moon of the fourth month in the 8th year. That would have been on the new moon of the month of Tebeth. Verse 34 says, "And they had no son till the first jubilee (50 years) and after this he knew her." The Serpent (Satan) could not have been the father of Cain in the book of Jubilees because the temptation happened in the 8th year of first jubilee or the 8th year of the first 50 years. It wasn't until after 50 years that Adam knew Eve, and they had Cain.
In the book of Jubilee at http://www.sacred-texts.com/bib/jub/jub16.htm, under Cain and Abel, Chapter 4:1-2, " And in the third week in the second jubilee she gave birth to Cain, and in the fourth she gave birth to Abel, and in the fifth she gave birth to her daughter Awan. And in the first year of the third jubilee, Cain slew Abel because (God) accepted the sacrifice of Abel, and did not accept the offering of Cain."
Those verses don't mean that Cain and Abel were born 7 days apart nor is Awan born 7 days after Abel.  In this passage a week is 7 years, and 7 weeks x 7 years = 49 years + 1 year = 50 yrs. or a Jubilee. The 50th year is also counted as the first year of the next Jubilee. So Cain was born in the third week (3 weeks x 7 yrs.) which is the 21st year of the 2nd Jubilee. 49 years + 21 yrs. = 70.   Abel was born in the fourth week (4 weeks x 7 yrs.) which was the 28th year of the 2nd Jubilee. 49 years + 28 yrs. = 77. Awan was born in the fifth week (5 weeks x 7 yrs.) which was the 35th year of the 2nd Jubilee. 49 years + 35 = 84 years. In the first (year) of the third jubilee, Cain slew Abel which means Abel was killed in the 99th year, and not the 100th year.   49 yrs. + 49 yrs. + 1 yr. = 99 yrs.  Please don't forget that the 50th yr. which is always the year of Jubilee is always the 1st year of the next Jubilee.

Since the temptation in the Garden of Eden happened in the 2nd month on the 17th day of the 8th year of first jubilee which is the 8th year of the first 50 years, the serpent (Satan) was not the father of Cain in the book of Jubilees.  Cain was born in the 70th year or about 62 years after the temptation.

We know that the book of Jubilees is not part of the Bible, but I didn't want anyone to mistakenly think that the Serpent fathered Cain in the book of Jubilees when the Serpent didn't father Cain nor is there any verse in the Bible to support that theory.  So really the moral of the story is don't believe everything that someone tells you and check it out for yourself with the help of the Holy Spirit.
