$55 Per Gallon of Premium Gasoline in Fliderstadt! Look at These Insane Gas Prices In Germany and Other European Nations
Tuesday, April 26, 2011 12:07In Germany in the town of Filderstadt, customers could not believe their eyes at one Esso gas station. After all, there was a reason: the price was Euro 9.99 per liter for premium gasoline or a staggering $55 per gallon.
The Filderstadt price per liter of 9.99 Euros of premium gasoline was a special circumstance. Because the tank holding the gasoline was very close to empty, the service station owner wanted to discourage people from using the premium gasoline so he raised the price exorbitantly high while the lesser grade was Euro 1.51 per liter which is the equivalent of about $8.20 a gallon
The average price per gallon of gasoline in Germany and the Netherlands is now more than $9.00 per gallon and prices also exceed $8.00 per gallon in other European nations.

DEFINITION: Ratio of premium gasoline price to world average
Units: Ratio of Gasoline Price to World Average
Units: Pump price for super gasoline (US$ per liter): Fuel prices refer to the pump prices of the most widely sold grade of gasoline. Prices have been converted from the local currency to U.S. dollars, and the ratio of the gas price to the world average in the same time period was used in order to normalize the data.
