Hello,
John and Doves,
Take
heart, Leslie, God is the King of Time.
"Remember the
former things of old: for I [am] God and [there is] none else; [I am] God, and
[there is] none like me,
"Declaring the
end from the beginning, and from ancient times [the things] that are not [yet]
done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will
do all my pleasure...."
Isaiah 46:9-10
The
question is, "Does God want to save people?"
"But God demonstrates His own love
toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for
us.
"Much
more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath
through Him." Romans 5:8-9
Now,
what if Carl is in a bad place [whatever that may mean], can God reach
him?
"Behold 2005,
the LORD'S 3068
hand 3027
is not shortened 7114,
that it cannot save 3467;
neither his ear 241
heavy 3513,
that it cannot hear 8085." Isaiah
59:1
What
if Carl is in a really, really, really bad place?
"Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost
those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession
for them." Hebrews 7:25
Now
for prayer. What words to use?
"...[Y]our Father knows the things you
have need of before you ask Him." Matthew
6:8
What
if words fail?
"...[T]he Spirit also helps in our
weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray
for as we ought, but the
Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which
cannot be uttered." Romans
8:26
How do
we know we have what we have asked for?
What
is "effectual fervent prayer?"
"Now this is the
confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask
anything according to His will, He hears
us.
"And if we know
that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we
have asked of Him." 1 John
5:14-15
What
about waiting on pins and needles for an answer?
"Be anxious for
nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let
your requests be made known to God;
"and the peace of God, which surpasses all
understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ
Jesus." Philippians
4:6-7
Finally, always remember that,
"The Lord is not slack
concerning [His] promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward
us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance." 2
Peter 3:9

"Prayer
request"
Please pray for Carl he has been missing for 5
days. He has been very depressed because he just found out he has parkinson
and his girl friend broke it off with him. He came to help maple syrup with
another friend then left and hasn't been seen since. I just found out (sunday
nite) I wish that I had found out earlier to ask for prayer I am afraid he may
have taken his life. He is the son of a friend he doesn't know the Lord. But I
believe in prayer so I am asking for all the prayers I can!
Thank
you!
