If I may make a wild guess, Brother Todd, it seems that you advocate listening to the Holy Spirit, by way of continuing to read the scriptures.  In other words, let the Holy Spirit shake us to a state of being fully awake spiritually.

 

It is written,

    "[the words of one of the seven angels of the Bowl Judgments to John, carrying the message of the LORD] 'Behold, I am coming quickly! Blessed [is] he who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book.' "  Revelation 22:7

 

Thus,

    "...[L]et us who are of the day be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and [as] a helmet the hope of salvation.

    "For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,

     "who died for us, that whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with Him.

    "Therefore comfort each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing."

8.0 and above quakes look to be pretty evenly distributed from 1900 to 2010.

It’s hard to find data for 7 – 8 magnitude quakes going back from 1990, but that does not mean there were only a few of them.


In the short term, in the last year or two, quakes do seem to be going up, but no long term trend can be discerned from the data. It remains to be seen if we are on a medium or long term uptick.
