"Nisan 16"
Dear Doves,
The date of Nisan 16 was the day the
Pharisees believed was the Feast of First Fruits. It was the day after
the High Holy Day Sabbath of Nisan 15, the first day of The Feast of
Unleavened Bread. Were they wrong? Were the Messiah and the Sadducees
correct in believing it was the day after the weekly Sabbath in the
week of The Feast of Unleavened Bread? Then and now, there are the two
Sabbaths in that week.
The Hillel Calendar follows the
traditions of the Pharisees as regards this issue. Is this calendar
correct and binding for Nisan 16 as the correct choice for the Feast of
First Fruits? It will be 4-19 to 20. It does not match the weekly
Sabbath Day 7/ Day 1, when the Messiah/Christ was resurrected. Which of
the day after Sabbaths might The Master honor this year, if we are into
the season and month and week approaching The Blessed Hope? We shall
see. Bless the Lord of His Harvest!
With Love and Shalom,
Jean
