"The Preparation - Part Two"

The Preparation Part Two (April1st, 2011)

Several thousand years ago God commanded His people to observe several feasts. Pesach / Passover (or Unleavened Bread), Shavou'ot / Pentecost, Rosh Hashanah / Feast of Trumpets / Jewish New Year, and Sukkot / Feast of Tabernacles, were to be Holy convocations. God said these were His Feasts. Personally the Christian church has not placed enough, or any emphasis on God’s personal feasts.

A convocation, by definition of the Greek word, is not only a called assembly, but a rehearsal, for a future event. What future event is Passover / First Day of Unleavened Bread rehearsing?

For years I have believed that Christ had fulfilled all of the Spring Feasts.

This morning I realized that Passover / First Day of Unleavened Bread, has not been fulfilled. It had been my belief that Christ was crucified on Passover, thus fulfilling it completely. However, Christ was crucified on the preparation day before Pesach / Passover / First Day of Unleavend Bread. He was our Pascal Lamb, sacrificed for our sins.

Passover is a commemoration of the day the death angel killed all the firstborn in the land of Egypt. It is a commemoration of the day the Hebrews (not just Jews) left Egypt for the Promised Land.

What will be the fulfillment of this feast? Will this Passover (April 20th, 2011), or a future Passover be the day our Lord calls us home to the Promised Land? How will you spend April 19th, 2011 (Preparation Day)?

YBIC,

Glenn
