Dear Ones:

I apologize for sounding dogmatic in my last post.  I did not mean to do so.  It occurred to me that this post should be done.

To God be the Glory Always

I believe it is a mistake to think of the 70th week of Daniel’s prophecy as the same exact time as the so-called “tribulation period”.  Scholars have debated over this at length, arguing whether the rapture event is pre-tribulational, mid-tribulational or post-tribulational.  Some even think there will be no millennial program, and these are called a-millennialists.  I am in the first camp, a pre-trib, pre-millenial believer in the inerrant Word of God.  I am a literalist, meaning I take the Word of God as literal wherever it is not specifically symbolic.  God says what He means, and means what He says is my motto.

Having said that, there are some points made by mid-tribbers that are valid.  Maybe a melding of the two positions is the correct approach.  It may be that both are right as far as their ideas go, and the reality may be that the rapture event occurs somewhere in the first half of the 70th week but before the mid-point.  It is certainly looking that way now.

I have always been a pre-tribber.  I do not think that we will be raptured at the same time that the antichrist proclaims himself to be God, sitting in the temple of God, in Jerusalem as mid tribbers believe.  I am now satisfied however, that this pre-trib position is not the same as pre-seventieth week.  They seem to overlap, but maybe not day for day???

I believe that we have just a year remaining, before antichrist is revealed.  Sometime in that year we will be taken home.  I want it to be now, but evidently that is not to be.  I, like you, must await the perfect plan of God in this matter.

Today, April 13, is the last possible day of the seven day warning based on the Noahic picture found in Genesis 7 and 8.  That is because 2012 is a leap year which adds a day to February.  If nothing happens on this day April 13, then I concede that this may have no meaning for the rapture event.  That’s o. k. though as it is as always in God’s capable hands.

But now is the time to keep looking up.  As for me and mine, that is what we plan to do.  I am praying for opportunities to witness to someone in the hope of snatching some person out of this world, and into the glorious kingdom of light.

I do believe that we are 2 ½ years into the 70th week of Daniel’s prophecy and the temple building should begin very shortly.  It may already be underway, as a matter of fact.  I suspect that it is.  When I stood on the temple grounds in 1967, I could not have imagined the temple being built.  The city floor was only 9 feet below the top of the wall.  All beneath it was soil…and debris of 17 destructions of the city of Jerusalem.  In the years since, the entire area has been archeologically dug out and it is now possible to open the eastern gate because of it.  The position of the eastern gate is indicative of where the temple’s holy place stood.  It was on the northern end of the area, north of the Dome of the Rock mosque.  I think a temple could be built there without interfering at all with the Dome.  Whatever the case, soon the world will see.  And, one day Jesus will come through it as Israel’s King of Kings and Lord of Lords.  We’ll be with him then.  What a day that will be.
