"Keith Davidson"
Hi John and Doves,
Keith:- Your post - http://www.fivedoves.com/letters/apr2011/keithd44.htm
As you may know, I, too, lived in Africa for a good many years. I am 52
years old but feel as though Africa aged me so much faster!! It's a
land of heartbreak, Keith. There are so many contradictions. I put this
down to demonic interference. Full stop. Yes - I fully recognize the
evils of colonialism etc., but - in reality - colonialism finished in
South Africa - (in Zimbabwe it was way earlier) when Mandela was
released. Since then - evil has been blatant, instead of hidden. If one
bypasses the main stream media's side of the story, one learns the
truth. The truth of the matter is that the current PTB (Powers that Be)
in Africa are WAY worse than their colonial masters were. Sure - two
wrongs don't make a right. However, when the West heard these stories
of 'Africa fighting for her Independence' etc., and the utter JOY that
everyone felt when Mandela was finally released - you do wonder where
it all went wrong. Zimbabwe has made the headlines for many a year now.
They have pure EVIL ruling them. The standard of living has tumbled to
a level that rivals the poorest of the poor. The churches are
victimized, with Anglican church goers being denied entrance to their
beloved cathedral by the wretched police. In South Africa - the poverty
stretches on forever. NOTHING has improved - the situation has
deteriorated hugely.
You obviously know all this, Keith. Saying all the above - the one
shining light in Africa is the spirituality. There's a mish mash of
religions but Christianity positively thrives there. I agree with you
whole heartedly, Africa is special to the LORD. As are all His people.
There is a tremendous revival going on in South Africa - as we speak. I
am also very aware of the perception, re Israel, that holds sway in
Africa. Mugabe tries to drum anti Israeli sentiment into the main news
headlines but most Africans hold Israel in the highest of esteem. They
have faith like a little child. They recognise truth when they hear it.
There are even some Christian sects (ma'postles) who hold to the new
testament teachings but have also included a lot of ancient Hebrew
traditions into their worship, as well. Then you have the people living
on the border of the Limpopo River. Their DNA (plus their ancient
Jewish traditions) prove that they are a tribe of Israel!! Oh Yes!
Africa is very special to the LORD.
I look forward to meeting you at the wedding feast, Keith.
