"An unexpected comet"

An Unexpected Comet?
Back in early 2007 I had the joy of seeing Comet McNaught adorned like a bride in the sky, clearly visible with the naked eye from an open area near where I live (Canberra).  The pictures from around the world, including over Jerusalem, were spectacular and clearly heralding events soon to unfold.  Now Comet Elinen is shadowing the world, and this is coinciding with an acceleration of events leading towards the Lord's return.  Whether Elinen or another comet, signs in the sky will speak of His coming.  Some doves may be interested in the letter relating to comets I sent back in early 2007.  Maranatha
Previous letter - An Unexpected Comet?
Some time ago there were some letters on Five Doves about comets, including that the word COMET is prominent within Cometh (see my letter of 16 January 2007).  I have also attached some verses that include Cometh.  So, I wonder if an unexpected comet is near, either one that has already been discovered, or a whole new comet.  Such a comet could have impacts on world events - worth watching for.  Maranatha

GREAT COMET  Just some thoughts on Comet McNaught - discovered by an Australian (Robert McNaught) just a few months ago (7 August 2006).  As Friedrich Wenz pointed out, comet is embodied in 'COMETh".  The (separate) word comet is not in the KJV but it is in the Amplified Bible - in Isaiah 41:25. "he comes with the suddenness of a comet, but none of the idol oracles of the nations has anticipated it".  I have read this for many years, and puzzled over it as most comets, such as Halleys, were tracked well in advance.  All of a sudden we have a comet - the brightest in the Southern Hemisphere for around 40 years, and it appeared out of obscurity in the universe.

Exactly what this foreshadows may remain a mystery, but God is speaking to us very clearly that His coming is drawing very near.  The context of this verse, the coming of Cyrus and his victory in Babylon is very interesting.  Some excerpts from the following five verses are pertinent:  behold the Jews will be restored to their own land (27), to Jerusalem I will give a herald bringing the good news (27), and I look upon the heathen prophets…there is no man among them who could predict these events (28).  Our Saviour is asking us to walk a different path, and one that is not always easy - but Babylon and human wisdom (and predictions) are about to be challenged by the power of the Word of God.  And Babylon will, in its various forms, FALL in the not too distant future.  And Babel has just been voted best picture in the Golden Globes.  Maranatha from Australia

Selected ‘Cometh’ Verses

Isaiah 41:25  I have raised up and impelled to action one from the north [Cyrus], and he comes; from the rising of the sun he calls upon My name [recognizing that his victories have been granted to him by Me]. And he shall tread upon rulers and deputies as upon mortar and as the potter treads clay. [He comes with the suddenness of a comet, but none of the idol oracles of the nations has anticipated it.]

Matthew 24:27 (KJV)  27For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

Matthew 24:44 (KJV)  44Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.

Matthew 25:6 (KJV)  6And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him

Matthew 25:13 (KJV)  13Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.

Luke 12:40 (KJV)  40Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not.

1 Corinthians 15:24 (KJV)  24Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.

1 Thessalonians 5:3 (KJV)   3For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
