"THE RISE AND FALL OF ISHMAEL"

COMPILATION from various sources concerning Ishamel and Israel:

I believe God Almighty is destabilizing the Middle East to bring them down to judgment on the mountains of Israel. The closer we get to a forced agreement between Israel and their enemies, the palestinians, the greater the uproar and shaking of the world system:

And I will call for a sword against him throughout all my mountains, saith the Lord GOD: every man's sword shall be against his brother. (Ezekiel 38:21)

Scripture and the children of Ishmael....

Gen 16:

11 And the angel of the LORD said unto her, Behold, thou art with child and shalt bear a son, and shalt call his name Ishmael; because the LORD hath heard thy affliction.

12 And he will be a wild man; his hand will be against every man, and every man's hand against him; and he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren.

From this we can see the God knew in advance that Islam would be split into waring clans... Shites and Sunnis... and Praise God that they do have divided allegience else they may have already taken over the world. What the leader of Iran believes is that when the Madhi comes he will unit all of Islam into the Army of Allah.  God forbide.                                                                                                                                                                                            - alan trombetta

THE RISE AND FALL OF ISHMAEL

Dear Friends:

            This week we meet Ishmael.

Ishmael appears at the very outset of our national existence.  Amazingly, in our current world, Ishmael has re-appeared as a major presence around the world through his descendants, the Moslem nations!

Rabbi Chaim Vital states, "At the End of Days, Israel is destined to experience the Ishmaelite exile.  This fifth and last exile will be the most difficult of all.  It is the exile of Ishmael, who is called 'pe're adam,' a wild man." (Eitz Hadas Tov, as quoted in The Ishmaelite Exile)

Why has Ishmael reappeared?

There is a startling difference between Ishmael and Esau, the two classic enemies of Israel.

Ishmael is called "pe're adam." Our rabbis tell us that means Ishmael is primarily "pe're," animal, and secondarily "adam," man.  I am not trying to ridicule Ishmael; this is the language of the Torah.  "[Ishmael] will be a man like a wild-ass accustomed to the wilderness.  He will go out for his labor, searching for [prey] to tear apart.  That is: he would rip apart all others, and all others would rip him apart.  The intent [of the prophecy] was toward his offspring, that they would become great, dwelling in the wilderness like wild asses, and would have wars with all other peoples." (Rambam on Genesis 16:12)

The Chofetz Chaim writes, "even if we find Ishmaelites who are well educated professionals, they never shed this basic trait [of being a 'wild man']."

Ishmael by his very nature is in eternal conflict with himself.  Even if the "man" in him desires to ascend toward G-d, the animal will bring him down.  In other words, Ishmael carries an internal contradiction which guarantees that neither part of his nature will ever be able to reach fulfillment.  Perhaps that is why he is never at peace, either with himself or with others.

It is vital for us to understand this, because otherwise we cannot deal with him.

Esau, on the other hand, is our Father Jacob's twin brother.  He is not half-animal.  He is Rebecca's, not Hagar's son.  Esau could have become great - and this, I believe, was our Father Isaac's desire -- but hechose instead the "red, red stew," which he stuffed down his throat. This obsession with materialism led inevitably to eternal jealousy and conflict with his brother Jacob.

We asked why Ishmael has reappeared in our times as the apparently dominant world power, just before the coming of Moshiach. The answer, my friends, is most remarkable. (I am grateful to Rabbi Yechiel Weitzman, author of the The Ishmaelite Exile, for clarifying these points.)

Esau is a builder.  His descendants built Rome, which was famous for its viaducts, roadways, siege-works and world-conquering armies.  The heritage of Rome is the entire Western Civilization, the leading country of which must still be considered the United States.  This civilization has created a mighty network of highways traversed by countless millions of cars and trucks. Skies are crowded with airplanes and helicopters.  Great ships, bridges, tunnels, skyscrapers, shopping centers are the hallmark of this civilization.  Technology has thrust us into space, has created webs upon webs of computers which control every aspect of life, ubiquitous cell phones and entertainment devices, medical discoveries -- all the "wonders of modern science."  And then there is the great military machinery: weapons, powerful beyond imagination, rockets, missiles, ships under the sea, vehicles negotiating every kind of terrain.  Weapons of terrible force are aimed with pinpoint accuracy from thousands of miles away.

Who can challenge this mighty civilization, this Esau, whose hallmark after all is hatred of his brother Jacob? Who will prevent Esau's appetite for the "red, red stuff" from destroying the world and swallowing up the tiny nation of Israel, G-d forbid?  Yes, the United States has been our friend, but we forget the law "Esau sone es Yaakov... Esau hates Yaakov" at our peril.  We must not forget the eternal words of the Torah, "Esau thought ... I will kill my brother Yaakov." (Genesis 27:42)

Who can challenge Esau?

Only one nation, my friends, and that nation is Ishmael!

Out of the primitive deserts comes a wanderer with the cruelty of the wild beast, combined with the brain of a man.  Can you imagine this, my friends?  It is amazing!  Who else is willing to blow himself up to destroy his enemies?  Who but Ishmael?

Do you remember how the TwinTowers were destroyed?  What was the weapon?

BOX CUTTERS!

Yes, the most low-tech weapon imaginable brought down the citadel of Western pride!  And this is the hallmark of the "pe're adam," the primitive animal-man, against whom no other nation can defend itself - no other nation, that is, but the Children of Israel!  Once again I take the liberty of mentioning the amazing Malbim from the introduction to my book, 2020 VISION:

"In the End of Days, after the Children of Israel have returned to their land, the children of Ishmael and the children of Esau will unite to attack Jerusalem. They will form a world coalition against the tiny nation of Israel.  But something will go wrong with their plan. The religious beliefs of the children of Ishmael and the children of Esau will clash, and the two nations will collide and destroy each other.  This is what is referred to as the War of Gog and Magog.  Following this cataclysmic conflict, the Final Redemption of the Jewish People will occur with the coming of Moshiach the Son of King David." (Malbim on Yechezkel 32:17)

What is the nature of the conflict between Ishmael and Esau?

Esau is a builder. Ishmael is a destroyer.

"Today's superpowers ... stand helpless against the sons of Ishmael, against primitive tactics and fanatic faith, against a solitary Arab who sees himself as a martyr willing to give up his own life." (Ishmaelite Exile, p. 71)

Is it true that there is no defense against a suicide bomber?  I will relate something amazing that I heard in the name of the Brisker Rav, who predicted suicide bombings decades ago on the basis of a sentence in the Psalms.  During Hallel we say, "They encircle me like bees, but they are extinguished as a fire does thorns; in the Name of Hashem I cut them down!" (Psalm 118:12)  How does a bee sting?  It leaves its stinger in the victim, at the cost of its own life!  This is the suicide bomber!  Is he invincible?  Not at all!  King David in this Psalm says that he will be extinguished "as a fire does thorns."

And how?  With the Name of G-d!  When the Children of Israel sanctify the Name of G-d through all our actions, then we will no longer be tormented by our enemies, no matter how animalistic they may be!

And this, my friends, is the solution to the threat of Ishmael, and for that matter to every other threat, no matter how terrible.  For no matter how cruel and subhuman our enemies, we are the Children of the Al-mighty G-d who sanctify His Name!  This is the sure path to life!  This is the great test we face now, in the end of history.  This is our ticket to the perfect life soon to emerge with the coming of Moshiach ben Dovid and the building of the Bais Hamikdosh, may we see it soon in our days!

Please listen to this description of the end of history:  "In the End of Days, after the Children of Israel have returned to their land, the children of Ishmael (the Moslems) and the children of Esau (the Western nations) will unite to attack Jerusalem.  They will form a world coalition against the tiny nation of Israel." (From the commentary of The Malbim on Ezekiel 32:17, as cited in my book 2020 VISION)

Sound familiar?  Maybe a little like today's headlines?

Would you like to know what's coming next?  Please listen once again to the voice of the prophet:

"But something will go wrong with their plan.  The religious beliefs of the children of Ishmael and the children of Esau will clash, and the two nations will collide and destroy each other.  This is what is referred to as the War of Gog and Magog.  Following this cataclysmic conflict, the Final Redemption of the Jewish People will occur with the coming of Messiah the Son of King David."

If we believe in the dream and hold on tightly to G-d and His Torah, we will weather this and all other storms.  We will see a world bursting with light, a world of peace and justice, a world in which "Torah goes forth from Zion and the Word of G-d from Yerushalayim."  (Isaiah 2:3)
