"A Prayer for our nation in these troubled times--"

Our Father which art in Heaven, Hallowed be Thy Name,

We humbly bow before you, knowing that our nation, whom you made great by your Divine Mercies and for the Glory of Your Great Name, has been changed by our sins and disrespect for you as the Creator, we humbly come before you in deep humility, grieving, and in sincere repentance, to seek your face.

Our multitude of sins and the abuse of your great abundant blessings has divided our nation and brought about this curse upon us, our children and our grandchildren, just as it did in the days of the Prophet Daniel in Babylon. We have forgotten how to be our brother's keeper, and how to love our neighbor as ourselves, and instead, greed for money and materialism has overcome us as a nation. We have lusted after what we could not afford. We have coveted our neighbors greater possessions and useless luxuries, and we are now being broken and wanting. O Lord, teach us to be happy with the daily bread you give us each day, as Thou seest our need. We have participated in a system of debt and greed instead of trusting you for our needs and your righteous abundance. Remind us that you forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. We have unfortunately been respectors of persons, while knowing that you are not. Yet, in all this misery we see overshadowing us, we have turned to our government for relief, instead of you our Creator and Lord. We have followed after false fleshly idols, gods of science and nature, things created instead of the Creator, and laws of usuary that are contrary to your laws, thinking we would prosper.  We were wrong, and have grieviously sinned against you and your Divine Laws that were for our good.  We repent of our sins against you and our fellow man. Forgive us and those who lead us in these periolous times.

We fall on our faces before you Lord God, to seek your face, by prayer and earnest petition, with tears and fasting in our grief. We, like your servant Job have realized the error of boasting in what we ourselves have made and all our riches gained (and lost); forgetting that all good things come from you. We confess this before you O Lord, you who is our Great and Awesome God, who keeps the covenant and mercy to them that love him, and to them that keep His righteous commandments; We have sinned, and have committed iniquity, and have behaved wickedly, and have rebelled by departing from your teachings and your judgments. Neither have we always remembered the warnings of your servants the prophets, which still speak to us in your Word to us, and have spoken to our leaders and our ancestors in days gone by.  Father, lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever.

O Lord, righteousness belongs only to Thee, but to us who rebelled, and turned away from you, belongs shame, as it is this day; to all who are called by your Name both near and far off, throughout all the countries where you have scattered them, because of their trespasses that they have trespassed against Thee. Lord, by your great might, protect those who have been scattered to far away countries and are daily serving you under hardship and poverty, and have not settled for ease and greed, but have been serving You by serving their fellow man who are suffering in great want. Lord, please grant them abundant Grace and provision. May we be forgiven our trespasses in the same measure as we forgive those who trespass against us.

Neither have we obeyed the voice of the LORD our God, to walk in His laws, which He set before us. Yes, all of Thy people have trangressed Thy law, and even the laws of the founding of our nation, even by departing, that they might not obey Thy voice; therefore this curse is poured upon us. We have allowed evil and many idols to coexist among us, we have entrusted others with the bringing up and future of our children in pursuit of greater wealth, trusted in man instead of turning our eyes always upon You. We have gone to hideous means of hiding our sins from you and our fellow man, to our shame. Prayer is denied now in our schools, and your Commandments were removed from our halls of justice.  Our fortunes and futures were given to others who follow other Laws in their hearts. Therefore afterwards some of our past leaders repented for the grave mistake they had allowed, and what dire future they had established for our nation. For this we humbly ask your forgiveness.

Father, we realize now we are in bondage to a system that is not Yours because of our national and personal sins, and are grieved to the core, and cry out loudly to you. Moses confirmed the words which he spoke against Israel and also to our judges that judge us, by bringing upon us a great evil: for under the whole heaven hath not been done as hath been done in past times to Israel and upon mankind today.  As it is written in the law of Moses, all this evil is come upon us: yet made we not our prayer always before the LORD our God, that we might turn from our iniquities, and understand thy truth even in these latter days.  Therefore hath the LORD watched upon the evil, and allowed it to be brought upon us until the appointed time when Thy kingdom shall come and Thy perfect Will be done in earth, as it is in heaven: for the LORD our God is righteous in all his works which he doeth: for we obeyed not his voice.

And now, O Lord our God, that brought Israel forth out of the land of Egypt with a mighty hand, and hast gotten thee renown, as at this day; we have sinned, we have done wickedly.  O Lord, according to all Thy righteousness, we beseech thee, let thine anger and thy fury be turned away from your people, and those who yearn for your holy mountain and redemption: because for our sins, and for the iniquities of our fathers, our nation and thy people have become a reproach to all that are about us, even within our own nation.  Now therefore, O our God, hear the prayer of thy servants, and our supplications, and cause thy face to shine upon thy congregation, for the Lord's sake.  O my God, incline thine ear, and hear; open thine eyes, and behold our tribulations, as well as the city which is called by thy name: for we do not present our supplications before thee for our righteousnesses, but for THY great mercies, and the precious blood of Thine own sacrifice that abides in Thy Holy Heavenly Temple.  O Lord, hear; O Lord, forgive; O Lord, hearken and do; defer not, for thine own sake, and for our nation, and all thy people that are called by thy name in all nations. Forgive us as we honor You by praying also for our enemies, and those who hate us.

And also we pray for Thy Perfect Peace upon Jerusalem, as we proclaim just as David did, that: The LORD is my Shepherd, I shall not want,  He maketh me to lie down in green pastures; He leadeth me beside still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake. Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for Thou art with me; Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; My cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever. And from now on, may we always remember to seek first the Kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto us...for you, our Heavenly Father know all things we have need of. Praise and Glory to Your Holy Name Forever.

In the spirit of Daniel, David and the Disciples...

AMEN
