Vanishing America

Just like the fleetingness of time, America has quickly dissipated into something we can barely recognize from that of 50 years ago, much less even 30 years ago.  Our real need for reform in areas of equality, which were MUCH needed, has swung the pendulum to acceptance of any and everything which in turn has destroyed our morals, our foundations, and evenually the prospect of our future.  But, this degeneration did not not happen over night.  Just like a live frog placed in a pot of water that is then set on high, that frog does not realize when it begins to boil because of the slow progression of the water's heat.  So, our very fibers have been slowly seared by a generation in the past 40+ years that has wanted to throw out everything that mainstream America stood for in terms of morality.


Our founding Fathers fought with their lives for a country rooted in Godly principles.  Today, those principles are seen as archaic and even laughable in terms of a spiritual foundation.  The disillusionment of our times has people calling evil good, and good evil.  Yet, only a portion of America can see it.  We've bought into a lie of utopia without sacrifice, freedom without responsibility, self expression without a moral compass, an open mind without a higher calling.  The destiny of an individual or a country is based upon doing what is right, but not what is
necessarily easy.  Yes, the pursuit of happiness, but not for the purpose of self indulgence or turning our personal infirmities into an excuse for self-abasement.


When I entered first grade in the Fall of 1969, I remember an America much different from the one today…but it was on the cusp of muchh change, from the decade prior.  I remember during that period living in New Mexico and witnessing one of the many demonstrations taking place on University campuses.  As a young boy, it scared me...causing me wonder what my future would be when in high school or college, and the things I would have yet to face. Now, over the course of the last 40 years, we have seen the results of that love generation.  We are now primed for the induction of deceptive leadership, as long as it aligns with liberal stances.  Added to that, is that some of the church has slid into the same deceptive trance, favoring open-mindedness over the narrow road.


So, where are we headed? ….only God knows.  But, as Christians wee do not need to be caught unaware.  As we pray for our country, we are given God's roadmap to the season we are now living in.  And, let us continue to pray for America, but also be astute to what is going on around us, and warn others and prepare ourselves through a daily surrender…and a heart ready to repent to our Lord when needed.  II am learning myself, to seek His word more.  Join me in praying to also love Jesus more, and be willing to be used in any capacity in these last days.


Though our country may be transforming into something we no longer recognize, let us be transformed into the image of His Son.
