"Thanks Kay / more on Shroud"
THANKS Kay for that article on the Shroud of Turin. Dame Piczek is both an
accomplished artist AND a nuclear physicist. Quite a combination,
huh?
I saw a presentation by Petrus Soons at the Columbus, OH, Shroud
convention last August. His holographic 3D presentations of the Shroud are
awesome.
You talked about the coins over the eyes that he is seeing in
the holographic model. Soons also talked at length about seeing something
around the neck of the Man of the Shroud. He believes it to be a small sign
that has three Hebrew letters that can be translated as "Lamb". Doesn't that
blow your mind!!! Jesus was mocked as King with the crown of thorns, so it
makes sense that he might have been mocked as the "Lamb". (In John 1:29 John
the Baptist introduced Him as "the Lamb of God who takest away the sins of the
world". ) Perhaps a Roman soldier took a sign from the Passover lambs' pen and
put it around Christ's neck. With the holographic and new digital photographic
information, scientists are finding more amazing details about the Shroud.
For example, it was/is a Jewish custom to bury the dead along with any
item that had the deceased's "life blood" on it. Dr. Alan Whanger from Duke
University and his wife Mary have written some fascinating books on this
theory. Along with some tools of the crucifixion, they believe that flowers
were placed around Christ's head and chest. Professor A. Danin, a Jewish
professor of botany, claims to have identified faint images of at least three
plant species that are native to Jerusalem. In one of his books, he tells what
time of year these three species bloom (March-April). He can even pinpoint the
time of day that one of them blooms. (Late afternoon, like our four o'clock
flowers.)
I know that it is a stretch to believe all of this, but the
more I study the Shroud, the more amazed I am! Check out www.Shroud.com.
