"Jesus Was Son of Mary and Roman Rapist (read all the way through)"

This blasphemous idea is not new. It can be traced back to the writings of the
Church historian Origen (185-251 AD) that were later expunged by the Vatican.
It is also alluded to in the Koran where a full grown man forces himself on
Mary and she goes into hiding. My point for even bringing up this nonsense is
how it affected the Jews and most notably my own mother.
A book entitled "Toledat Yeshu" which was an infamous collection of Rabbinical
anti Jesus fables (probably derived ironically from Origen et al) which was
the primary source of information that Jews got about Jesus in the Middle
Ages. While never accepted as truth by official Judaism, these scurrilous
writings had a real impact. Mary was said to have been raped by a Roman
soldier Panthera and Jesus was said to have been the bastard result. Oy. Hey,
Origen started it.
According to the "Oxford Dictionary of the Jewish Religion", Geoffrey Wigoder
editor, Oxford, 1997, page 695,
"This work is an expression of vulgar polemic written in relation to a no less
vulgar attack on Judaism in popular Christian teaching and writings."
Yeshu by the way should not be confused with Yeshua, the Hebrew name of Jesus.
It is an acronym that stands for 'May his name and memory be blotted out'.
Many Israelis still use it for Jesus. Watch out.
Now the rest of the story:
My beloved mother, bless her memory, when she saw a statue of Jesus would say
"Yoshka Pondra". I never new what that meant but it was obviously a reference
to this blasphemy that we are talking about. It meant Jesus (Yeshu) son of
Panthera although yiddishized. It just shows how that scurrilous book Yeshu
Toledat still influenced Jews hundreds of years later. Sad. But now the As my
mother lay dying of cancer 30 years ago and wracked by unbearable pain, my
Jewish sister reportedly called to God to stop the pain and nothing happened.
She then called out to Buddha and nothing happened. She then called out to
Jesus and the pain stopped. My mother died shortly afterwards.
I hope and pray that Jesus appeared to my Mom in her hospital room and healed
my mothers soul as well as her pain and that she is now in heaven with Jesus
even though she called him Yoshke Pondra.
Praise God,
Stephen
BTW ever since I accepted the Lord 20 years ago my sister not only no longer
speaks to me but she no longer relates that story about Jesus and our mother.
But we know that our God is loving and forgiving despite our stiff neckedness.
Look at what He did for this sinner.
