assume pupils have heterosexual parents

Teachers should not assume that their pupils have a "mum and dad" under guidance aimed at tackling anti-gay bullying in schools.
It says primary pupils as young as four should be familiarised with the idea of same-sex couples to help combat homophobic attitudes.
Teachers should attempt to avoid assumptions that pupils will have a conventional family background, it urges.
It goes on to suggest the word "parents" may be more appropriate than "mum and dad", particularly in letters and emails to the child's home.
When discussing marriage with secondary pupils, teachers should also educate pupils about civil partnerships and gay adoption rights.

First they had in UK now Australia is following suit. Our PM came back from UK only last weekend. Then we have this law introduced, which had been introduced in UK last Jan. Always all politicians go to US and then somehow they always stop in UK, hardly anyone by- passes London. In fact Kevin Rudd our new PM had an audience with the Queen.
Isn’t it interesting our Prime Minister came home from a 17 day world tour on Sunday 13th April, and no sooner he landed he nominated a lady Governor General, who is now the Governor of Queensland, from this Sept, for Australia? The very same day he landed! The future GG, Quentin Bryce, is quite ancient, and it would be convenient for prince willy to step into her shoes. His father charlie did request for this post some decades ago but was rejected by Australia, quote: “His father, Prince Charles, also harboured vice-regal aspirations in the 1980s but was sent packing by Bob Hawke, who felt that Australia did not need a 'double dose' of the monarchy”. The present GG is a distinguished military man, and it would not do for willy to take over from such a man, as willy would have a tough act to follow, and there would be always the odious word ‘comparisons’ cropping up when viewed with his predecessor. On the other hand taking over form an ageing matriarch would put willy in the best possible light. All the king’s horses and all the king’s men in the right place, ugh?
