"Sound Changing DNA?--not"
Dear Kelly,
I was in the New Age, doing various meditations and
visualizations,
including "toning," the use of sound to heal.
I can
attest that toning can make a person feel a lot
better--temporarily.
The DNA is not changed by this toning. If you
have a genetic defect,
or two, these will not "get a new strand" or alter a
defective strand
through being subjected to sound.
Music, too, does
much to heal our souls, if it's the right kind of
music. But it does not
heal our DNA.
Only God can heal our DNA, and as you say, the great
healing will come
when His trumpet sounds!
Genetic tinkering is one
of the last great sins, and some, such as our
Pastor Riley, believe that
genetic experiments will bring the end, for
God will not allow man to use
it. Even for healing. This will be a
challenge for many, if stem cell
research goes forward very far (and we
hope that we will be "in the air"
before that goes much further).
Some genetic defects are born in, and
other mutate during a creature's
life through stem cells. Because of our
tinkering with the
environment, these stem cell mutations may increase
exponentially.
This is why we need God to solve this problem.
Listen
to good music, however, for its healing effects on the
soul.
