"Randy Larson's "Not Me""
Very well said, Randy. It is a misunderstanding
of this parable that causes people to further misunderstand what the Bride
is all about. The Bride is nowhwere mentioned in this parable.
The only two translations of the Greek word for the subjects of this parable
are "virgins" and bridesmaids." I don't understand why people feel
the need to make the subject of this parable the Bride.
Its not the wisdom or the foolishness of the Bride that
the Groom takes into account when He comes for Her at the Rapture....its
the simple fact that He and She are engaged to be married!! And the
engagement happened when She accepted His proposal (salvation) and His
engagement ring (the sealing of the Holy Spirit.)
The Bride's "wisdom" is not in how much oil She keeps
in Her lamp, but rather Her "wisdom" was displayed when she accepted the
Groom's proposal and engagement ring. When He comes for Her at the
Rapture, He snatches Her up and whisks Her off to His Father's House.
He doesn't stand there and wait to see who has enough oil in their lamp
and comes out to meet Him. He simply comes for the ones He's already
engaged to!! And this event (the Rapture) is not being described
in this parable. It happened prior to what's going on in this parable.
