Joe, Romans 8:29-30 --these two verses you speak of are talking about Christians after they are put into the Body of Christ.   The ONLY thing you are predestined for - is to be put into His Body once you are saved and you get saved by an act of your FREE WILL.  You were not in his body before you were saved, you were in ADAM.  In Adam all have sinned. If you think you were in his body before Adam - what did you do? Get dumped out of Christ when Adam was formed? Then - get stuck in Adam after being in Christ, then get dumped out of Adam when you were born again?  Won't work.
