"Glenn Sheffield :  Passover"

Thank you very much for sharing a part of the study on the Pentecost and Passover. Thank you to show me about calendar moons and
calculations...  I  am eager  to learn of the meanings of all the scriptures ... for in it.... is the LIFE.

I  have verified with two contacts that I  have ,  in Jerusalem , Israel       and indeed , you were  RIGHT.
On the 6  april , 2008 , in Jerusalem ,     the  NEW MOON in  N E W .
The time differs a few hours  or minutes but still =  on  the  6 th april   2008..

What I  found and was answered was that on the  6 th  april , evening , the moon has been  NEW since  the evening of the  5th.  and was told  that the HODESH  was starting     on   the evening  5  th  to the evening  6 th  april , 2008.

And,    .... the sunset was on the   6 th  april  at  19:01   local Jerusalem time. ( waiting for the stars to appear to end the day ).

They identify the first day of the first month  Nisan as being the  5 / 6  april , 2008. The first night with  the  N E W    M O O N
I  don't know why there are different days for that  moon.????
I  also understand that what the Bible says , it is always according to Jerusalem's time...
Since  I  don't live in Israel,  I  am trying to use a calendar always according to Jerusalem ' s time   to calculate the instructions given to  us by   YHVH.
I  hope  I  am not offending anyone by sharing the finds that I   make.

Now for the preparation of the Passover=  This is not done on the Passover day as some say.
The Bible says  LEV 23 : 5 ... On the  fourteenth day of the first month , at twilight is the Lord's Passover.
This is the 13 th after sunset.     GEN   1      .... says   .... one night...    one day....

The day starts in the evening.
EXODE 12 :  3  ''  Speak to all the congregation of Israel , saying : On the tenth day of this month every man shall take for himself a
LAMB ( Jesus  JN 1 : 29 )......
EX 12 : 6 '' Now you shall keep it until the fourteenth day of the same month. Then the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it at  TWILIGHT.
This is not the twilight of the  15 th  but  the  14 th  which begins  evening of the   13 th day.
The   24 hours following this is the  Passover.....DAY.  The preparation was done  BEFORE the Passover ( so they can eat ) and ........(  not  )   ON   the Passover.

LUKE 22 : 7 - 14  Then came the day of the Unleaven Bread , when the Passover must be killed.. And He sent Peter and John , saying : Go and prepare the Passover
for us, that we may eat....... the preparation was... BEFORE.
V.14... And when the hour had come , ( sunset on the  13 th Nisan..... which is the beginning of the 14 th day  up to the sunset the next day .... this would be the  14 th day ... ( 24  hours )   of the Passover.  Jesus ate the Passover before dying the next afternoon , as the scriptures say.)

MT 26 : 17 - 20  speaks of the same evening / night  before  Jesus '  death , the next day.

Apostle Paul says the same thing in   1 Cor. 5 : 7 ..... for indeed Christ, our Passover, was sacrificed for us.

You ended by saying that the LORD was crucified  before the Passover....         the scriptures say... Christ is the Passover LAMB.
Could not have been killed  before or after  the Passover  ... BUT  between the two nights. (  24 hrs ) . In  Jesus ' time of death, the Lamb was sacrificed  in the afternoon of the 14 th  Nisan according to the death of CHRIST , our Passover Lamb.,  right before the starting of the feast of Unleaven Bread.( a few hours later. ).

The preparation said in  LUKE 23 : 54  and  JOHN 19 :  31   this is not  the preparation of the Passover  but  the preparation of the Unleaven Bread which was to take out the yeast  of the  homes and dellings of the people of Israel.
The Passover  ( 24 hrs ) was almost ended  when Jesus was put in the tomb.  The Bible says that Passover ( 14 th ) is not a  SABBATH day rest   but the first day of Unleaven Bread ( 15 th )  is  one .. ... and also the  7 th .(  LEV 23 ).
The people had to prepare there houses and make sure that  No     yeast   was found.
EX  12 : 18 ... In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month.... AT THE EVENING... you shall eat unleaven bread , until the twenty-first day of the month at the evening.   V 27...  that you shall say, '' It is the Passover sacrifice of the LORD, who passed over the houses of the children of Israel in Egypte when He struck the Egyptians and delivered our households ''.

Paul continued in  1 Cor 11 : 23 - 26... For I received from the LORD that which I  also delivered to you: that the LORD Jesus on the same night in which He was betrayed took bread; and said : '' Take eat ; this is my body which is broken for you ; do this in remembrance of me ''.  In the same manner He also took the cup after supper , saying : '' This is the new covenant in my blood. This do , as often as you drink it , in remembrance of me ''.  For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup , you proclaim the LORD's death till He comes. ''.

Some may celebrate the Passover as being the  EXODE out of Egypte, or the passage from the life of salvery to freedom... as the  15 th Nisan........OK .
But the Passover  was given by the AlMighty GOD  for the Israelites to eat before getting  O U T  of   Egypte. They ate  in a hurry and left in  hurry ( EX 12 : 33 - 39 ).
This is why the blood of the LAMB was put on the door posts., the night the angel  , sent by  GOD ,  passed .
They ate it  in there homes with great stress knowing that the blood of the Lamb , was to protect them .   Israel left in a hurry , pressed by the Egyptians, to leave their land ( Ex 12 : 33-39 )     EX 12 : 42   the night , Israel came out of Egypte. ( EX 13 : 3 )  went out of Egypte on Unleaven Bread.. not  on Passover ..

Yes , I  find that there are different interpretations of  seeing the START  of the new MOON of NISAN.....
Passover cannot be on the   15 th  Nisan  which is attached to the Passover. These two FEASTS are connected together as  ONE.

I   understand ,there are different Jewish people with different opinions... I  don't argue with that.     OH  no  !    we are humain beings.

That's why we pray GOD to show us the right   WAY   to worship HIM.

Dear friend. GLENN ; I  respect your ways to see this ,  and for me , I  honestly will look at the moon for the starting of the MONTH  NISAN  and will add and calculate
starting in Jerusalem , knowing also  that  it is there that Jesus is coming back  SOON.

Thanks you sincerely for sharing  the WORD of GOD with all of us , even if we have a     little    difference  in seeing the new moon.
Thank you for your love and  understanding .
A  friend in Jesus.............. R1000
