EXCELLENT post, Rene!  I feel the same way!  God allows us to exercise free will, because He doesn’t want robots to serve Him.  He wants us to love Him, worship Him, and follow Him because we desire to do so, not because He MAKES us do it, as He definitely could if He wanted to!  My son, Chris, is 27, and is a Southern Baptist (which is what I was raised as).  Chris believes in predestination in that God has predestined who is going to be saved or not saved before the foundation of the world.  Nonsense! If that were the case, why should we bother witnessing at all, if He has already decided who will or will not be saved? He and I argue over MANY of our beliefs… that’s just one example. :)
