Hello to all. Yesterday on my way home from work I heard a song being played about the sun shining through the rain and it made me think of a time about a month or so ago that while again driving home from work it was raining yet the sun was shining from behind me and I had the beautiful opportunity to see a magnificent rainbow before me. It was a very bright one and actually there was a second one above it. What was very interesting about this one was that I saw the end of it. About 50 or so yards ahead of me to the left were trees, and as I drove along, the end of the rainbow continued to shine before the trees. When I viewed the bow in the sky, it looked as if it were hundreds of miles away, but because of the trees, I could see that it was right before me. I probably drove for about 10 minutes or so with that rainbow with me. I had always heard the line about the end of the rainbow, but this is the first time in my life I had actually seen it. If there was a pot of gold there, that pot was traveling at about 65 mph, or possibly a bit faster.I started thinking about this and I feel the Lord opened up to me a wonderful picture. We travel through the storms of life. The black threatening clouds lie ahead of us. Most of the time we don't see the rainbow. If we saw it all the time it would probably be like the children of Israel having a pillar of fire always hanging around. You kind of get used to it. You forget the gloriousness of it. Anyway, behind us shines the Son. He is not in front of us, all we see is the storm. Once in a while He will shine in such a way that we see His precious promises, that He is there leading the way. As we pass through this life, when we do get the chance to see the bow of promise, we can't get to it yet. If we could, then maybe we wouldn't keep forging ahead. We would be content in our spot of glory at the rainbows end. But, we have a life to forge through, so we keep moving.
We can't look back, because we may lose our way or get into a wreck. What is happening behind us? Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, is placing nuggets of gold from our lives into His precious bag and will present these to us at the end of the journey. What an honor and privilege to know a God like this.
Brothers and sisters, we are about to reach the end of the rainbow. Jesus is about to shout it from above and we are gone. We have read many letters from struggling doves. If we all shared our hurts, there would be too many letters and John couldn't handle them all. A few have shared and we all hurt with them and pray for them. Those that haven't shared, God knows your hurts and mine. He has not forgotten your labor of love, and will soon reward you for your faithfulness. Keeping our eyes on Jesus, lets run this home stretch with everything we have, knowing full well, it's not by might, nor by power, but by His Spirit. May God bless each and everyone of you.
