"Cinda Godfrey-Food Storage"

I am sorry to prolong the discussion on Cinda's question of food storage for current and pending troubled times.  I see the "yes" and "no" answers offered by a number  of persons.  I am wondering if Paul's letter to Timothy in I Tim 5:8 may be applicable.  It seems the lesson is to not only look after others but our own families as well.  We are to provide for them, which easily includes planning for disasters. This was done also in the O.T. preparing for the years of famine by storing grain for poor harvest seasons. Surely by giving man free will, and a brain he expects us to use them, otherwise we are mere automatons.Being prepared is not being "independant of God" but dependant upon Him to help us be prepared through prayer and preparation. We should have plans and supplies for a variety of potential disasters, including floods, tornadoes, hurricanes, fires etc. That is certainly not hoarding.  Then in a time of widespread famine, sharing some food or other supplies goes a long way in putting faith into action as a wonderful witness of His goodness and provision.
That is what the Holy Spirit says to me.
