Dear John and all doves,
Long ago in the times of Moses, those with the blood of lambs on their door posts and lintels, were watching to see what would happen on that night of deliverance. Would their firstborn be spared? Life or death. Live or die. That night of deliverance was to be recalled annually by the seed of Isaac "for all your generations."
Our Master asked some dearest friends to watch on another Passover night, under the beautiful light of the full moon. There was expectancy that night once again under the shelter of the branches of the olive trees at Gethsemane.
We are close to another Exodus/Gethsemane remembrance night within days. There will be expectancy and watchfulness in the still darkness of deepening night. "Watch and pray that you do not enter into temptation." The hour of temptation? The midnight watch and hour of the individual soul?
There will be mortals and immortals in the millenial reign of the Messiah. The annual recall by the seed of Isaac will be lived every year for 1000 years. Kingdom come saints will look forward to 1000 Passover nights to come. Each will be distinctive and special for the new creation people since the Lamb who was slain for each and all will lead us in remembrance of momentous events. He is the eternal centerpiece of all of it, past and present and future. The Beloved who is symbolically our unleavened bread of life eternal from Heaven and the cup of salvation for us will personally lead everyone in worship.
Within days we can appreciate Passover on an evening and night of blessedness. The Exodus/Gethsemane night of watching is near. His most difficult watchful night of all led to his eternal best for us. Will I not watch one hour with Him at least this night? Will you? With Love and Shalom,
Jean Stepnoski
