Hopefully, this is self-explanatory. I am hoping to encourage many of my brothers and sisters in Christ to show the love of Christ to dear Jody at a time where it would really uplift him.

" He asked me in a surprisingly way as who would send him such wonderful gifts. I told him who each of you were and he was almost speechless of your generosity". 

 

Just a small gesture of kindness like a card can mean so much.These gifts that Jody referred to are ours to give to him but in doing so we also give to the Lord-

 

Matthew 25:

 

34 “Then the King will say to those on His right, ‘Come, you who are blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. 35 ‘For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in; 36 naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me.’ 37 “Then the righteous will answer Him, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry, and feed You, or thirsty, and give You something to drink? 38 ‘And when did we see You a stranger, and invite You in, or naked, and clothe You? 39 ‘When did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ 40 “The King will answer and say to them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.’

 

 

So, this is an opportunity to bless Jody as well as a blessing for ourselves as it is gives us an opportunity to give to a another.

 

Wouldn't it be great if we could forward this to enough people who would take the time to mail a postcard, card or letter to Jody and brighten his life. Can you imagine Jody's astonishment if he received hundreds of cards of encouragement with people letting him know that they are praying for him??

 

Please also lift Jody up to the Lord in your prayers as well.

 

Below is an email with Jody's mailing address from Jody's friend, William, who has kept us updated on Jody's condition.

 

 

Dear brother's & sisters in Christ,

I know that it has been quite a while since I've sent out an update on Jody's condition. He had been doing good up until this past Tuesday when his oxygen levels got extremely low for an unknown reason and he could not wake up. He was rushed to the East Alabama Medical Center that happens to be across the street from the Rehabilitation Center.

 

According to his mother, she said that he had almost died due to his O2 levels were at 26. When normal these levels should be around 90 and above. He is weak, tired and sleepy most of the time. He is not taking any medication that I know of besides diabetic medication and his back hurts severely due to his scoliosis. He is being fed through a tube since he can't swallow anything right now. They have put a permanent port in his chest so they can take blood and give meds as needed. His mother stated that now his skin is a nice color and his feet are a pretty pink color.

 

I got a brief text from Jody yesterday (Thursday) and he asked me to truly pray for him right now because he's having a difficult time going through this. Of course, I will.

 

Today he text me and said that Pastor Joey had gone by there to see him which truly made his day even better. I could sense his excitement that Pastor had been there to talk and pray with him.

 

I want to tell everyone at Lakewood that has sent him balloons, candy, and cards, you have really touched his heart and made him truly feel that there are people who are compassionate and full of godly love. He asked me in a suprisingly way as who would send him such wonderful gifts. I told him who each of you were and he was almost speechless of your generosity.

 

You are all wonderful friends to have and I pray that God will bless you all most abundantly.
