The witness of Christ is prophecy. Also the bible talks about the gift of prophecy.
Pretty much when you speak what scripture says re these last days you are prophesying.
The same conflict has always been. People do not like what prophets say. They always bring up the uncomfortable things we ignore. The obvious. Jesus was prophetically sarcastic to the Pharisees. We have the same today in modern Christianity and at this web site.
 
You might get opposition when you bring forth these things but so what.
We are judged by our words and our actions

Whether we say nothing or something.
Whether we stand up for the truth or go along with what is popular
Paul the apostle had much opposition, so will we.
 
You might not be popular by defending God but you will be loved and you will be rewarded.
Lets look to the future and not worry about the present.
