"Frank's Post: Night Walker"

Hi John & All:

I think without a doubt this was one of the best postings Frank ever wrote.

The more intimate time I spend with God in His word and in prayer, the more of an adversion I have for the things of this world. The wider my spiritual eyes become opened.

If you are having difficulties with answered prayer, I can almost guarantee that it's because you are spending far too much time in the things of the world and not enough time in contact with the lover of your soul. I am not at all suggesting hobbies and special interests are bad for you - in fact they are not.  But if they are soaking up most of your free time and your spiritual life is off and on - that is a very bad situtation and detrimental to your overall well-being.

Learn to pray well ahead of time.

For example -- if your annual checkup is due in a couple of months, don't wait until a few nights before and then start praying about it. Get as much lead time in prayer as you are able and be consistent about it. If you do this and put God first - I can guarantee you will realize more dramatic results and God will seem more real in your life. Not that He isn't ... but your perception will change.

If on the other hand a storm does unexpectedly strike, and the only things that are inside you are American Idol and Wheel of Fortune, then you are going to find yourself in very serious trouble and frequently subject to fear.

Do you know why gluttony and sexual immorality and alcoholism are sins? It's because they find their gratification in the flesh -- wherein there is not any life. As our Lord taught us it is the spirit which gives life ... the flesh profits nothing.

We have so little time left - whether you can believe it or not. Don't waste it in things which have absolutely no eternal value.

See ya in the air,

Eric
