"Prophecy News & Eclipse Information"
Hi John:I changed the format slightly by lengthing each page (the width is would still be the same and should fit). It makes it easier when inserting charts.Donna -- The program noted the solar eclipses but tied the significance to the blood red moons. None of those solar eclipses (in that time frame) would fall on feast days. They later attempted to tie some significance to three in a row solar eclipses which take place around the 1st of AV (or before) during the years 2008 - 2009 - 2010.- Eric
Hi John & All:
I just wanted to illustrate a couple of important points in relation to the solar and lunar eclipse information which was broadcast on the Prophecy In The News program recently.
I am a big fan of J.R. Church and Prophecy In The News, and very often purchase their monthly magazine in one of the local Christian bookstores up my way. But some of the information broadcast was not 100 percent accurate in regards to the solar and lunar eclipses of 1948 – 1967 – 2014 – 2015. As well, additional information will need to be provided concerning these events.
What is being discussed on the program are Sabbatical Years and Solar / Lunar eclipses, with their relation to important Feast Days on the Jewish calendar. We are currently inside a Sabbatical Year as per the chart below:
Starts on Sunset
Ends On Sunset
September 12, 2007
September 29, 2008
As the program goes on to point out, the next Sabbatical Year will be in seven years time, as follows in the chart below:
Starts on Sunset
Ends On Sunset
September 24, 2014
September 13, 2015
Now before I go further, it is important to realize that a Sabbatical Year is of 12 months duration, and in the examples listed above is comprised of the months and dates within those parameters. This can confuse people who go by the Gregorian calendar, who might not realize a Sabbatical Year is based on the Jewish calendar, and which overlaps a portion of two years on our calendar.
This is an area where J. R. Church and his special guest do err in their subsequent calculations. I am quite surprised that nobody on staff has pointed this out to them. Allow me to explain.
There are two lunar eclipses within the year 2014, which do have the potential to be of the “blood red moon” variety. I make a point to say “potential” because although both are of the TOTAL Lunar eclipse variety, it cannot and should not be assumed the coloring will automatically be red. There can be varients in our atmosphere, such as happened from the ash spewed around the globe as a result of the Mount Pinatubo eruption in 1991, which blacked out what was supposed to be a blood red moon (December 9, 1992).
Lunar Eclipses - 2014
April 15, 2014
October 8, 2014
There are also two lunar eclipses within the year 2015, which have the potential to be of the blood red moon variety, as listed below.
Lunar Eclipses - 2015
April 4, 2015
September 28, 2015
Unfortunately, J.R. Church is promoting the idea that there would be four blood red moons in the 2014-2015 Sabbatical Year. If you look again, however, you will see this is not true. Two of the dates fall outside of the Sabbatical Year … one by several months.
Lunar Eclipse # 1
April 15, 2014
Sabbatical Year Begins:
September 24, 2014 (sunset)
Lunar Eclipse # 2
October 8, 2014
Lunar Eclipse # 3
April 4, 2015
Sabbatical Year Ends:
September 13, 2015 (sunset)
Lunar Eclipse # 4
September 28, 2015
As you can see above, two of the Lunar Eclipse events do not fall within the Sabbatical Year. The first Lunar Eclipse will take place almost six months prior to the start of the Sabbatical Year. As well the fourth Lunar Eclipse takes place more than two weeks after the Sabbatical Year is finished.
Secondly, and equally as important I think, is whether or not these events are viewable from close proximity to Israel and Jerusalem. This is not touched upon by the program, but here is the answer:
Lunar Eclipse # 1
April 15, 2014
NO
Sabbatical Year Begins:
September 24, 2014 (sunset)
Lunar Eclipse # 2
October 8, 2014
NO
Lunar Eclipse # 3
April 4, 2015
NO
Sabbatical Year Ends:
September 13, 2015 (sunset)
Lunar Eclipse # 4
September 28, 2015
POOR
Only the final eclipse will offer any view of the event, and it will just be of the waning moments. None of the blood red portion (if it takes place) will be viewable.
Finally as it relates to 1948 and 1967 – the program is just a little bit confusing on these years. First of all neither year was part of a Sabbatical Year. But secondly, 1948 was not a part of a blood red moon tetrad. The sequence of blood red moons actually took place over a two year period between 1949 and 1950. Of the four events, only one blood red moon was visible from Israel (April 2, 1950).
As for 1967 it was part of a tetrad sequence of blood red moons (again over a two year period), which saw two in 1967 and then two more in 1968. Of these four blood red moons, none of them were visible from Israel (three of the four eclipses were not even viewable from the Middle East).
See ya in the air,
Eric
