"OSAS and my sister-in-law"
This is the story of my sister-in-law and how OSAS can't possibly apply here.
My
husband grew up in a completely non-Christian family (they still all
are), but when his sister was young (about 12), she went with a friend
to a Christian church service and at the end of the service, went
forward and accepted Jesus.
She then came home and
excitedly told her parents and brother what she had done, and they
teased her mercilessly. She never went back to the church with
her friend because she was so humiliated and hurt by her family.
The
years went by and she started exploring Buddhism, new ageism, and other
religious types. When I came into the family (when she was 18), I
was a Christian and she argued with me about my beliefs. (I met
her brother who really liked me so he went to church with me
occasionally, but was not a strong Christian.)
Anyway,
over the past 27 years she and I have had MANY discussions about God
and religion, etc. She does not believe in Jesus - in fact, she
is not even sure she believes there is a God. I have asked her
about her conversion experience when she was young, and she says it
didn't mean anything, and was just something she tried.
I
don't think there is any way that anyone can say her conversion
experience at 12 yrs old was not real. I believe it was very
real, and had she had an understanding family and a little support to
keep going to church, I believe she would be a committed Christian
today.
Still, I don't see how she can be OSAS as she has
outright rejected Jesus in every conversation I have had with her over
the years. I wonder how much "environment" really plays into our
belief systems - and how responsible her family will be to God on
judgement day for the damage they did to her.
Only God
know each heart, for sure - so we can't judge - but I guarantee you -
if OSAS is true, she is going to be REALLY surprised if she gets
raptured - LOL!
On a serious note, if any of you wish to
pray for her, her husband, and my in-laws salvation, it would be
greatly appreciated. Thank you! I have done it for almost
30 years and will continue as long as I have breath.
Thanks for listening.
