We can identify with your pain also.  Before we married (1999), my husband was in his groundfloor apartment waiting for a phone call for a business associate.  He heard a ruckus outside and went to the window to investigate.  It sounded serious enough he thought he might need to call the police.
 
As he looked out the window, a car came barreling over the barrier and through the brick wall.  The heavy bookcase against the wall came down on him, pinning him to the bed.  Doesn't sound bad, but a shelf caught him across his knees and messed them up.  He did not have medical insurance.  He worked independently as a carpenter.
 
The driver of the car was angry with her boyfriend, that was the ruckus he heard.  The girl had jumped into the driver's seat and locked the doors.  The boy was trying to reason with her and ran around in front of the car.  At that moment she gunned it, trying to run over him.  He jumped up on the hood and rode the car into the room.
 
She had minimal insurance.  Joe was out of work for over a year.  He did have surgery  to correct the problems with his knees.  Her insurance company refused to pay until he got a lawyer involved.  The lawyer was able to negotiate about the medical expenses and everyone got a piece of the pie.  Joe had been served with papers to try to collect the debts.  It was a mess.
 
The girl.  She had to go to anger management class.  That was it.  Nothing for trying to kill the boyfriend.  Nothing for the physical injury she inflicted on Joe.  What a world!
 
Lord, I pray for healing for Chip.  I ask for Your divine protection on him during this time of extreme stress.  We know You have a solution for him.  Father, release him from his pain.  Help him not to give over to anger from all that has happened to him.  Give him Your Peace.  Wrap him in Your arms and help him to feel the love You have for him.  Help him to feel protected.
