"To: Loni, modern "worship" music"

Loni,

I have to agree with you about the nature of much of today’s “worship” music in the modern church. I grew up in the Lutheran church where we sang traditional hymns accompanied by the church organ. After not being around that sort of music and worship for many years, the other day I bought a three disk CD collection of favorite traditional hymns sung and by a very good choir with organ and also some done as instrumentals by 101 Strings, anyway I love hearing these hymns and they really lift me up far more than the modern type of music. This, coming from an electric guitar playing musician who has been on “worship” teams in the past.

Ephesians 5:

be filled with the Spirit;
 19.  Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;
 20.  Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ
