"Thanks to Steve Berryman"
Dear Steve,
Thanks so much for all your insightful letters on end-time
events and how things may very well play out. Thanks also for your
comments on "once saved, always saved."
Your placement of so many key scriptures that have been
so difficult to connect:- the 10 days of tribulation; the double anointing
of Elisha; the 2nd passover and the midnight cry heard by the 10 virgins;
and how they tie in with Ascension Day and Pentecost, all suddenly appear
to fit.
Those of us who agree with you concerning the prospect
of having our names blotted out of the Book of Life, and the fact that
only a select group will be chosen as the Bride find it difficult to share
such truths with other Christians.
A subject that probably produces even more resistance
and controversy is the sad fact that so many of God's children have not
asked their heavenly Father for the gift of the Holy Spirit (Luke 11:13),
the oil for their lamps, and thus are not "endued with power." Having
the Holy Spirit with us is not the same as having Him living in us -
"But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the
dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken
your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you" (Rom. 8:11).
If indeed, the infilling of the Holy Spirit is the oil
in our lamps, I for one do not want to take the risk of being without it
at this time.
In Christ,
Susie Parker
