"To Peggy and all those who
prayed for John Reese (an update)"
Thank each of you for your prayers and to Peggy
who also placed the request on other web sites, another thank you.
One thing I have figured out in this life is there is power in prayer and
when you mobilize believers to pray, you get God's immediate attention.
We may not at times get the exact answer we want, but when the heavenly
phone lines get busy, God notices the commotion......and answers.
John is a young man, 29 years old, who had gotten a severe
case of infection in his pancreas and stomach lining. As well, he
was bleeding internally and had pneumonia. He was air evacuated from
Wyoming to Salt Lake City, I believe Sunday a week ago. The doctors
there told his parents the chances of his survival were at best 50/50 and
they should call in the family. Surgery to stop the bleeding was
scheduled for Tuesday. By Monday we had begun starting prayer groups and
a request was posted on Five Doves on Tuesday.
Thanks as well to the doctors who provided excellent
care, but I believe God immediately began the healing process. The
internal bleeding stopped without having to have surgery. The pneumonia
was gone by Thursday and he was out of ICU and in a room. By Friday,
John was able to get out of bed and walk to the bathroom. He was
still weak, but his spirits were up. He is stable and the doctors
are talking survival.
He still has infection and his pancreas at this point
looks to be 80-90% permanently disabled. He will be in the hospital
probably a couple more weeks and then have to remain near until they get
him regulated. The prognosis is he will be a full diabetic needing
injected insulin, but there is life and there is hope for even further
healing.......... because with God nothing is impossible. Continue
to remember him in your prayers this week. He has a ways to go.
John, his parents, his brothers and sisters, his grandparents and I thank
each of you. When he is able, his parents are planning on moving
John back home to Nashville.
When people request prayer, be sure to meet their need.
It is our Christian duty and it does have power, real power. Like
the blind man, I do not know how, but whereas I know I was blind, I know
now that I see. Besides, all you prayer warriors receive a
redeemable chip in your personal safe deposit box in heaven. Though
we often do not know the results of our labors, everything you do and everything
you say is recorded in the books, even your very thoughts.
