Another interesting occurrence of 13 cropping up was in the VT massacre.
 
Cho is said to have mailed his package between shootings (how hard is that to believe?) at 9:01am Virginia time which seems to be 13:01 GMT.
Is it just a coincidence that it is exactly 13 forwards and 13 backwards? Also 1301 is the 213th Prime number.
