"Wedding preparations"

Hello, Friends!

I write to you today to share some Scripture that is encouraging and profitable for teaching.

We can praise the LORD together for His wonderful WORD and the things He teaches us therein!

Selected Scriptures- and I strongly encourage you to read these in context:

“Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were for a little while, until the indignation is overpast.”  Isaiah 26:20

“After two days will he revive us; in the third day will he raise us up; and we shall live in His sight.”  Hosea 6:2

I was doing some reading on Jewish wedding traditions last evening www.aish.com (interesting- check it out).  What a beautiful and meaningful ceremony.  The wedding itself is held under the “Chupah” or canopy under the stars to bring to remembrance the LORD’s covenant to Abraham, ” your descendants will be more numerous than the stars”. At one point the bride the “Kallah” circles the groom 7 times before coming to “rest” at the side of her groom “Chatan”.  This and more of the specifics of the wedding covenant occur before they go to the private chambers “Yichud” just the bride and the groom and share a meal.  This precedes the greater wedding feast the “Seudah”.

“Surely, I come quickly.”  -Jesus Christ, our LORD (Rev. 22:20)

The LORD has fantastically exciting things planned for His us, His Bride.  Praise God!

As we continue in this year 2007, let us prepare ourselves for our Heavenly Groom, the LORD Jesus Christ.  Let us seek the Holy LORD YHVH and ask Him to prepare us and to be filled with the “oil” of the Holy Spirit for we have great need for it personally and as we spread His light to others and the world.  It’s all about Him!  Let us surrender all to our blessed LORD and Redeemer.

“Search me, O God, and know my heart; try me, and know my thoughts:  And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the Way everlasting.”  Psalm 139:24 (emphasis mine)

May the LORD GOD forgive our sin, enable us to yield our whole heart, and cling to Him!

“My soul clings to You; Your right hand upholds me.”  Psalm 63:8

“He brought me to the banqueting house, and His banner over me was love.”  Song of Solomon 2:4

May the grace and beauty of His Spirit be with you all...
