The earthquakes were in the Solomon Islands and are still continuing.  The original 8.1 earthquakes caused a tsunami in the Solomons and there is wide-spread damage and lost of life.

Actually it didn’t happen on Palm Sunday, it was Monday morning in the Solomons and Australia when this happened, about 6 – 7 am.  It would have been Sunday still in the US when it happened.

Yes, there were tsunami warnings for Eastern Australia, especially north eastern coast, but thank God, nothing happened except that the tides were a little higher than normal.  There closed the beaches up and down the coast and stopped the ferries running in Sydney Harbour and ships were told to go out further to sea.
