I completely agree with you, for God to send not one but two Angels to bring a message means it's a A BIG DEAL. The bible basically interprets itself, so I did a phrase search for "in like manner" to find out exactly what that means for I wanted to see if it would pertain to a "time period" as well as the physical aspects of His ascent --and guess what-- it did!

Exodus 23:11
But the seventh year thou shalt let it rest and lie still; that the poor of thy people may eat: and what they leave the beasts of the field shall eat. In like manner thou shalt deal with thy vineyard, and with thy oliveyard.

So Moses was saying. .  .(eventhough he didn't spell it like this, he did say "in like manner")

 

But the seventh year thou shalt also let thy vineyard rest and lie still;

 

But the seventh year thou shalt also let thy oliveyard rest and lie still;

 

Since "in like manner' pertains to a "time" as well, I think it's safe to say the Angels were telling us the day of His return as well as all the physical aspects of it. . .

 

In like manner meant, He's coming on Ascension day in the sky in the clouds. . .
