"Our job"

Dear John & Doves, I wanted to make a small point that I know we all know but sometimes we forget.  As the church, we are "the body of Christ."  A body has many, many different parts.  Each little part has a different meaning and different job.  If we have been called to be watchers then that can be a big part of our lives.  All are supposed to watch to some degree I think but some are called to focus on the job of watching.  I will compare this to being on a large ship.  We know who the Captain is.  The Lord is our Captain.  The person up in the Crow's Nest at the top of the mast is a person focused on watching.  Others may be focused on many other jobs on board the ship.  We do not all live in the Crow's Nest.  We do not all cook all the meals.  We do not all locate our position on a daily business.  Sometimes we can get frustrated with others we know who aren't watching as we are.  Sometimes they don't want to watch as much as they should.  But we are truly the watchers and perhaps that is part of our calling.  But we cannot expect others to all have the same calling that we do.
It truly may not be our job to get them to watch.  I have many family members who are perfectly happy just being saved and going to church and are not interested, as I am, in watching.  I do believe we should all watch to some degree and many are not watching at all.  But we "focused" watchers can enjoy each other on Five Doves and not be bothered by those who choose not to watch at all.
Just my little idea for the day. Thank you John.  You do make "Watching" much more fun.  Your sister in Our Wonderful Savior, Carol
