I have to get something of my chest. I watched Good Morning America
this morning ( April 3) and Tim LaHaye and Jerry Jenkins were guest.
These two guys at one time believed the Lord was coming soon hence
the start of the series Left Behind. "Leave a copy on your coffee
table" was the suggestion. Millions were sold followed by a complete
series making them both very very rich. When asked if they believed
the Lord was returning soon, Jerry Jenkins said it could be 10, 50,
or a 1000 years. He also said they are going to write another series
based on the Gospel.I would hate to think that if I won the lottery that I would revise
my thinking so I can hopefully taste the "good life" longer. Preacher
Dr. Fred Price has nothing good to say about we who are looking for
His soon return. At least he was honest when he said to his
congregation " I don't want him to return, I have too many things I
want to do."Jenkins missed an opportunity of just saying " The signs certainly
indicate it is soon that is why we wrote the books". Liberals
believe the world is coming to an end as we know it in 10 to 20
years of global warming and are not afraid to say what they think. He
on the other hand, in my mind, is letting it hang out that he is now
comfortable. A 1000 more years of "end time wars and rumors of wars"
around Israel? Unbelievable!!!Another bothersome thing I just came across is Richard D. Land,
president of the Southern Baptist Convention Ethics and Religious
Liberty Commission, was elected to the Council of Foreign Relations
membership last year. Is he mad?(I think I'm getting that way.)
