"Second Passover:  To Steve, Jean, Pineman"

Second Passover:  To Steve, Jean, Pineman

Steve Berryman’s post of April 13, about the second Passover,,,,
giving some wonderful insights into this event,  and as expanded by others.  Thank you all!

Steve your comments about the second Passover, and the bride / groom, makes so many things seem to fit together…..And Jean, you mention that this is also the time of the white harvest, and Pineman you remark about how it is a “joyful” time, as our Lord indicated about the white harvest and at about a full moon.

Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not.

I guess one of the times that we might think not that the Lord is coming is at this second Passover, for this obscure feast is not mentioned anywhere I have ever found.

At the time when our Lord was last with His deciples, and told them that He “goes to prepare a place for them” and that He would return again, He was in effect telling that that He was going on a long journey, and as Steve has mentioned, that He would drink of the wine again (second Passover?), when He returned from the long journey.  Wow.

Interesting that at about this time of the second Passover, Jesus met with the Samaritan bride-type, in a personal meeting, alone, with her, and then told the deciples about the white harvest, which would bring joy to the sower and the reapers.   So, Pineman, this second Passover is two weeks of joy.

In Hebrews 9, Paul gave his teaching on our High Priest, who has entered into heaven, to present Himself, once for all, before the Father, as our sacrifice unto salvation.  And Paul discusses, how our Lord took our sins upon Himself, in that undertaking.   Then,,,
Paul says of those who are waiting and watching for Him:

Hebrews 9:28

So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.

The “second time” He appears to us, it will be without sin,,,,,for He has already taken our sins away,,,,,,and He, as a man on the long journey, could then come back to celebrate that cup of wine anew, in His Father’s Kingdom……as it says above, this time without sin………

In John 4, Jesus tells His deciples to “lift up your eyes”, and to see the “fields” white for harvest.   I recall that when Rebekah was approaching the time to meet with Isaac, she “lifted up her eyes”,,,and saw him in the “field”.  Also, Abraham, “lifted up his eyes, and saw the city afar off”…..(New Jerusalem).

Just a couple of thoughts, and I hope you all continue in your studies  about this….I wonder if there will be a second “preparation of the Lamb” at the second Passover,,,that is,,,,30 days after Nisan 10, another crossing over of the Jordan with our Joshua, our own Lord.  That would be around April 30?   Many dates on my calendar, much hope, and much love to all of you…..
