"Re: Ellen, thank you"

Dear Sister,

Thank you for your fine comments and the information sent. Thank you for
trying to look out for your fellow doves. No, I am not offended at your
honest opinion. I knew I would take some flak for the posts even though others
mention Easter all the time (eg. Tom Gaston) and no one gets upset by it. I felt the
doves were mature enough in Christ to sort out the spirit of what was being said
and I still do, no disrespect to you intended, I love you.

However, in the Word just as God mentions murder, adultery, the pagan God
Dianna, etc. He was not condoning the practice of Easter. He was meerly
using it as a point of reference. I did test the spirits on the one about "Easter
morn" and was led to not change it. I prayed about it and God was talking about
the time around which Gentiles celebrate the Resurrection and not Passover which
does not always fall on the same day. It was for clarification ONLY to get
across His point. God mentions a lot of unseemly things in the Bible (urinating
against a wall for one, although not in that nice a term, to get across a point
about crassness).

As for Easter eggs I do not know of any Christians who do not believe in
Easter (as I do not either) that still do not play at the Easter egg hunt with the
little children. In fact many churches in my area (and I don't think it is a good
idea because of what it seems to promote) actually have Easter egg hunts on the
grounds after church! For those who do not participate, how many do you
think go home and do it. Would you deny this to your grandchildren even tho you do
not approve? No many do that.

As for the Passover, Easter reference you spoke about, the Word is correct
in using Easter. I have researched this a lot and that year the two were not on
the same date so the writer was using an accurate date for when something later
happened. Had he used Passover historical accuracy would have been off and
we know the Word is never wrong. He had to make a distinction to make His
point.

Again thank you for your response. As I said I do appreciate a dissenting
opinion. Also thank you because I can trust that you will help me not to get into
trouble by accepting something without checking it out. We all need a check and
balance and we are admonished to do that for one another.

God Bless,
Shelva
