I firmly believe that once all the Jews are removed from the West Bank/Gaza, the Obadiah prophecy will be fulfilled, with Israel totally anihilating the Palestinian population.  But before they are comfortable in striking, their people need to be out of harm's way.  Israel currently has technology that can totally wipe out ALL people in designated areas, without destroying anyone outside that area, and without destroying any structures whatsoever!  Once the Obadiah prophecy is fulfilled, the Jews can then take their land back without fear of reprisal from their enemies there.
