Hamas Tells U.N. It Wants Peace With Israel

The Palestinian foreign minister said in a letter to U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan on Tuesday that the new Hamas-led government believes its struggle against Israel is just, but it wants to live side by side in peace with its neighbors. Keep in mind that the principles of Hamas are stated in their Covenant or Charter which states: "Israel will exist and will continue to exist until Islam will obliterate it, just as it obliterated others before it." The Hamas charter has NOT changed.
