"A Parable of the Fig Tree"

Matthew 24:32

Now learn a parable of the fig tree; when his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves,  ye know that summer is nigh:

The fig tree: symbolic to Israel which became a nation in 1948.   Fulfilling prophecy spoken in Ezekiel 37: 1-22, the vision of the dry bones.  The bones are the whole house of Israel and  the graves are the nations from which God gathers the Jewish people back to Israel.  They will not be divided as two kingdoms, Israel and Judah, but become one nation Israel, which was fulfilled in 1948.

Jerusalem: His tender branch; the uppermost city of a nation is referred to as a branch in Isaiah 17:9.  Jerusalem, His tender branch, was captured in 1967.  The branch that puts forth leaves:  the leaves are the Jewish people gathered from the nations of the earth.  This prophecy in Ezekiel 37:12, 13 began its generation of fulfillment in 1967.

Jerusalem , God's Timetable: Daniel 9:25 - God used Jerusalem as His timetable to the coming of Messiah.  The book of Zechariah God uses Jerusalem as His timetable to the second coming of Christ Jesus , our Lord.

Matthew 24: 33  So likewise ye, when ye shall see these things, (haven't we witnessed all those things in verse 32?) Know that it is near, even at the door.  "It" is He and He is Jesus at the door,  The door of heaven opens in Rev. 4:1 with a voice of a trumpet: "Come up hither."

To see beyond the translation of the body of Christ to the next fulfillment of prophecy , read Ezekiel Chapter 38.

Everlasting faith,
John
