Bin Laden’s Tape

Osama bin Laden briefly emerged from under his rock on Sunday with a new audiotape, broadcast by Al Jazeera. On it, the man who masterminded the September 11th attack denounced the “Zionist-crusaders’ war on Islam.” In other words, he doesn’t like us fighting back! He condemned the cut-off of foreign aid to Hamas, urged Muslims to go to Sudan to fight any peace-keeping force sent there to stop the ongoing genocide and demanded that anyone who insults Islam be turned over to al Qaeda for punishment. Thus, in one audiotape, bin Laden demands we subsidize terror groups (Hamas), remain passive in the face of mass murder (Sudan), and suspend freedom of speech throughout the world (no “insults” of Islam allowed).

A tape like this will surely unite Amerca, right? Wrong. Over the weekend, liberal talking heads continued to save their harshest words not for bin Laden, but for Bush and Rumsfeld! Meanwhile, Michael Scheuer, the former head of the CIA unit charged with finding bin Laden, told the New York Times that bin Laden “is at the top of his game,” largely because of U.S. foreign policy. Thank God Scheuer isn’t at the CIA anymore!

Bin Laden promised on the tape that the war we are in will be a long one. On that he is right, as long as so many political and foreign policy elites remain clueless and more interested in “getting” Bush than they are in getting bin Laden.
 

Fired CIA Officer “Closet Leftist”

Late on Friday the news broke that a top CIA official, Mary McCarthy, was fired after failing a lie detector test about a CIA leak. McCarthy appears to be the source for a story, which severely damaged the United States, on CIA-run prisons in foreign countries where al Qaeda terrorists are being held. Press reports on the firing emphasized that McCarthy was a high-level official who had even testified before the September 11 Commission.

What has received very little attention is that Clinton National Security Advisor Sandy Berger appointed her to the top level post in 1998. You will recall that Berger himself had to plead guilty in 2005 to stealing classified information from the National Archives. In addition, records show that Mary McCarthy was a donor to the 2004 presidential campaign of Senator John Kerry. So, here we have a closet leftist, promoted under Bill Clinton, a financial supporter of John Kerry, who has leaked information to the media that damaged our country. No wonder the major media is ignoring the details.
 

Congress Returns This Week

Congress is coming back to Washington this week with a lot on its plate, and time is running out fast. A number of contentious issues are set to come up for action, including a second attempt at immigration reform in the Senate, and now rising gas prices have emerged as the latest crisis for Congress to contemplate. There is some good news, however.

The Senate Judiciary Committee will soon begin debate on a federal marriage protection amendment. We got another unfortunate reminder recently of why this amendment is so necessary. Parents in Lexington, Massachusetts, are up-in-arms over a teacher’s decision to read the fairy tale book “King & King” to her second grade class. The story is about a prince who cannot find “true love” until he meets another prince!

This is the future of public education in America, and it is one more example of how same-sex “marriage” impacts all marriages. Your children and grandchildren will be taught that homosexuality is normal and same-sex unions equally valid to heterosexual marriages. So-called “hate crimes” laws will make sure that anyone who objects is silenced. The unintended consequences of this radical social experiment are already coming to light. The pro-polygamy movement is gaining steam and credibility with every defeat for traditional marriage. In the wake of legislation legalizing same-sex “marriage” in Canada, an official government report actually recommended repealing Canada’s laws against polygamy!
