Nearly everybody agrees - we won't have to wait much longer.
As soon as the "church age" is over - we're out of here.So the question is - when is the church age over?
That in itself raises two questions:
1. How long is the age?
2. When did it start? To answer question number 1, the generally accepted thought is that each age is 2000 years long.
The caveat being that they are "prophetic years" - that is each year is 360 days long.
Therefore, the age is 2000 years of 360 days each, for a total of 720,000 days.
To answer number 2:
1. The church age started on Pentecost
2. Pentecost is the 50th day after Passover.
3. Passover happens on Nissan 15th.
4. Jesus was crucified on Friday, Nissan 14th.By determining the date crucifixion, adding 1 day (for Passover) then adding 50 days (for Pentecost), adding 720,000 days (2000 prophetic years), you could determine the "end of the age".
I'm not certain how the Jewish calendar is currently determined - but back then, the months started with the sighting of the 1st sliver of light after the new moon by two competent observers.
There are dozens of different ways to determining the day, week, month and year (and the state of the moon) on the current Gregorian calendar, but there is no way to know if there were clouds in the sky blocking the view of observers - there by delaying the 1st of the month.
And then there is the whole Abib thing... If the barley is in Abib (ripe) it's one month, else it's a different month.
We can, however, presume that it is in spring - late February through late May verses summer, fall or winter.
I am by no means any type of expert on all the specifics. All I know is that nobody has been able to say definitively the date when Jesus was crucified.
I think the favorite years are 27, 29, 32, and 33. And I think Sir Isaac Newton preferred 34.
So - is that the end of the road? I don't think so. While we can't currently answer the 2nd question, we already have the answer to the first. 720,000 days.
If we start at today, and count back 720,000 days, we know that what ever date it falls on is PRIOR to the Pentecost that started the age.
If it were later than the Pentecost that started the age, the age would have already ended, and we wouldn't be here.
So I did just that. Starting on April 3rd, 2006, and counting backwards 720,000 days, taking into account leap years, leap centuries, the 10 day adjustment in 1582, etc.
I want you to remember something.
The age started 51 days after the crucifixion.
And it's not over yet.
And it's 720,000 days long.
720,000 days ago was Sunday, December 19th, 34.
50 days before that was Saturday, October 30th 34.Obviously, Nissan was not in October.
But what this means is that the crucifixion could not have been in 27,28,29,30,31,32,33,or even 34.
We are still here.
So I eventually changed the STARTING date to Monday, October 2nd, 2006.
That happens to be Yom Kippur this year.
720,000 days back from Monday, October 2nd, 2006, was Monday, June 20th, 35
50 days before that was Sunday, May 1st, 35
The day before that? Saturday. Here is the interesting part. There was a full moon on Saturday. Why is that interesting?
Passover is always on Nissan 15th.
The Jewish month starts on the new moon.
15 days later is going to be a full moon.
Always.I know that the year 35 shouldn't be the year. I know that.
But that's 720,000 days ago, and we're still here.Good news is that this could mean that the age is up on Yom Kippur this year.
10 days before that (the famous 10 day warning) Saturday, September 23, 2006 Rosh Hashanah.
On a side note, Thursday, November 9th, 2006 is 14400 days from June 7th, 1967. That's 40 prophetic years, also known as a generation, relevant to the prophecy of the fig tree, and the 6 day war.
So.
September 23rd - 10 day warning ??? (Rosh Hashanah)
October 2nd - end of the age. (Yom Kippur)
November 9th - end of the generation.
I would love to hear your thoughts.
