Michael:
According to the angel who gave us the riddle in Revelation 17, the seven heads are seven mountains and they are seven kings—the three are one in the same.
What are they?
They are the seven empires that are relevant to Bible prophecy?
What makes these empires relevant to Bible prophecy?
I am convinced they are the seven empires that consecutively rule the Promised Land. These empires rule throughout the four thousand year history of God’s promise to Abraham.
But more importantly for us today, if you correctly identify all seven empires, you can identify the beast that arises in the end times. When you identify the beast, you are able to identify the empire that is ruled by the anti-Christ. When you do so, you will have solved the angel’s riddle.
From a clue given by the angel, we can easily identify the sixth empire as Rome. In turn, many students of prophecy believe that the seventh empire is to be a revived Rome, but I believe that they are wrong.
I explain in the article that is noted above why the European Union cannot be a revived Roman Empire and is not a component of the angel’s riddle.
In fact, the seventh empire has already come and gone. It stood for more than a thousand years and had nothing to do with Rome or its culture. However, it had everything to do with the control of the Promised Land, which is at the true heart of all Bible prophecy.
If the seventh empire has already come and gone, then the eighth—which is the beast—is at the door.
God bless you in your studies. You are asking good questions.
