Hi John & All:

We are all familiar (or at least should be), with the verse in the Book of the Prophet Daniel, outlining the specific timeframe in which the Messiah, our Lord Jesus Christ, would go to the cross and shed His precious blood in order to redeem us:

“Know therefore and understand, that from

the going forth of the commandment to

restore and build Jerusalem unto the

Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks,

and threescore and two weeks: the street

shall be built again, and the wall, even in

troublous times.

And after threescore and two weeks shall the

Messiah be cut off, but not for himself ….”

- Daniel 9: 25-26

Here we see a very curious break outlined, which is separated into two distinct periods. The first period is 7 weeks of 7 years, or 49 years in length, while the second is 62 weeks of 7 years, or 434 years in length. Many scholars believe that the first of these periods outlines the length of time that passed until the completion of the 2^nd Temple (49 years), and the second period outlines the length of time that passed until the foretold death of the Messiah (434 years). This idea seems to be borne out in the 26^th verse, as shown above.

So now here is an interesting scenario. Originally I had planned to write another article in regards to the number “43” as well as its variants, tying it into recent articles written by John Tng and Bob Ware – until I was finally hit with the realization that there is more to the 49 / 434 year breakdown than meets the eye.

The Seven Weeks

As mentioned in Daniel 9: 25, the first period in this timeframe is 7 weeks of years – or 49 years total. This is quite interesting when you consider the following charts.

In the New Testament there are 12 different combinations that spell out the words “Lord Jesus”. Of this total, however, there are only 10 different mathematical sums:

As such, the total number of combinations giving a different sum for “Lord Jesus”, “Jesus Christ” and “Lord Jesus Christ” equals 49, being the same number as the 7 weeks of years in the first part of Daniel’s timeline, pointing to the year of the death (“the cutting off”) of the Messiah Jesus Christ!

The Sixty-Two Weeks

The second part of this timeline as written in Daniel 9: 25-26, is made up of 62 weeks of years, which totals 434 years. Here we have another stunning pointer.

As I wrote here about a year ago, and in conjunction with the first half of the equation, there are different spellings for both “Lord”, “Jesus” and “Christ” in the New Testament.

Amazingly, the 62 weeks of years is not only pointing to our Messiah Jesus Christ timewise, but mathematically as well!
