There is another possibility too: West Bank gets evacuated and the land gets "divided" as planned.  But the war of Ezekiel 38/39 occurs, which results in a resounding victory for Israel.  As a result of this resounding victory, Israel moves back into areas formerly given up, and they have the courage to rebuild their Temple on the Temple Mount.  THEN 3 and 1/2 years later......the abomination of desolation occurs.  This is what I suspect will happen.
