Also, some Islamic leader was quoted recently as saying that Israel had been "invading" for almost 38-39 years...so they too are working from the 1967 date as their point of reference for timekeeping. If I find the quote I'll forward it.

This would ensure that all those born during that generation would not die out because it's only approximately 1/2 the life expectancy these days -- although who could have imagined that 100 years ago when the expectancy was about 47?
