"Re: Rapture on the Brain 24/7"

Re: "Rapture on the Brain 24/7"

Martin Luther said "if I thought the Lord were coming today I would still plant my apple tree."

Such perspective was fine for Luther's day, but I doubt if he would be so inspired to start planting were he living right now!

It is true that we are admonished by the Lord to "occupy till I come."  It is also true that we do not "occupy" in the same manner as Christians in other ages nor in the same manner we did last year or last week or yesterday!  The Holy Spirit makes real to us the way we occupy with respect to fulfillment of prophecy and the length of time we believe we have left here....  AND IT'S CHANGING DAILY -- GLORY!!  We feel we have less and less to do with this present world and more to do with heaven. amen?
This of course can lead to a sense of impatience, and so we do well to remember Jesus' instruction for living in this hour:  "In your patience possess ye your souls." Luke 21:19  Some may say this particular scripture does not apply to our group awaiting rapture, but we certainly need  this scripture for ourselves as well -- especially when we feel like we're in that plane waiting on the tarmac for takeoff, taxiing around for what seems forever or worse just sitting there.  We watch out the window at all the planes coming and going wondering when we will EVER get clearance; but we wouldn't want to take off a minute BEFORE we got that clearance would we?  Bad news if we did!

We might remember that every year, every second the Lord keeps us this side of glory is for his reasons -- one of which must surely be "that he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing: but that it should be holy and without blemish."  Ephesians 5:27
